Default Hunter Calls - Ranger Skills for hunting.

Synopsis: Skills for rangers to lure a single beast out of a mob, or breakup a mob, or cause confusion, by using mating calls or mimics of wounded animals.

OK, i searched and didn't find anything, also, I've read a lot of absurd suggestions, so heres mine.

I have spent the past few weeks working on a solo ranger build to go hunt Hydras. It seems damn near impossible to take an all ranger build and be able to hunt lvl20+'s solo. While I see videos of monks and ele's doing it all the time.

Now I am not saying that this isn't fair. Or that there should be something done to stop them, but I do think it is rather silly that a monk can go and "farm" while a ranger can't with the same ease of some crafty skill timing.

So this is what I was thinking, adding some kind of shout skill, or hunters call to try and lure out a straggler from a mob.

It seems feasible for a ranger to have the skills to mimic the mating call of a hydra or drake to lure a single drake out of a mob for you to take on solo. Of course there can be the risk of pulling the whole mob. Or even the cry of a wounded prey to acheive the same effect.

I am not saying i have mastered Guild Wars, but it still is a challenge to take down a hydra using all Ranger skills, to me. Adding this would make it alot more enjoyable and actually change the idea of farming to hunting.

Geuss it wouldn't help PvP though.

I am using every trap in the book. Maybe I'm just not "getting it".

I am using whirling, trolls, dryders, spiked, barbed, dust, QZ as the core.

With QZ i can pretty much keep whirling and dryders going non stop, before i do anything i plant my traps, back up a bit throw down QZ, move bak to the fist spot throw down more traps, until the recharge for QZ ends, that's 60secs, so i have about 30 secs to lure something to me. Kite them back to the traps with dryders on, by then dryders has usually run out. Give whirling a go, run up to the hopefully blinded beast and throw down more traps. Back up, repeat.

Didn't want this to turn into a build critique, but maybe I am doing something wrong. And am open to any suggestions.

Either way, I still think, that using "hunters calls" (don't really know how else to describe it) would be something that would fit nicely into the game.

There are ebout 450 skils in the game and all of them besides signet of capture have some use in pvp! This is why this skill will never be in this game.

umm, otouygh's cry isn't useful.

it might be fun using it in pve (usage of one slot for like 0.1% of an entire mission, IF it has a wild animal.)

monks can solo, as long as the conditions are right. monks cannot solo where they strip enchantments, just not possible.

rangers can solo, as long as the conditions are right. rangers can use the kiting technique, pindown and poison em then run around in circles, pining em down now and then adding more poison. rangers cant take multiple enemies unless they use whirling defense, dodge and lightning reflexes, and use oath shot to recharge em faster (at least from what i have seen).

Ranger farming takes eternity. QZ and Energizing wind is 10 seconds gone right off the bat, then you spend 60 seconds + laying traps that enemies might not even walk to. THEN you have to run circles to get all the mobs on you (probably another 10 seconds), and your traps might not even kill them all, so you have a while more either waiting for them to bleed to death or planting more traps while they're blinded by dust trap.

At the end of the day, you're talking 2 minutes or more to take out a 4 creature mob. A monk can take 20 in the time it takes me to kill 4. How is that even comparable? Rangers can farm, they just suck at it beyond words.

Otouygh's Cry is useful because the +20 armor applies to your pet, even if thre isn't an untamed animal.

Yeah, I understand that it would never make it into the game, when I thought of it, it was out of frustration, and a brief creative moment of something I thought would be a cool thing to add to the rangers skills.

I seem to be doing better now, and Oath Shot seems to be the saving grace for being able to do any kind of solo activities. I just hope they never do anything to it.

sorry for calling you Captain Obvious.
